Regular readers know I’ve long been crusading for price transparency (I call it “visible prices”), so we can spend more wisely on our families’ care and so we can reward innovators who offer quality services at a better price.

That’s the norm in every other industry, but it hasn’t been in healthcare. A new series by investigative reporter Lee Zurik on New Orleans station WVUE, and another by Times-Picayune reporter Jed Lipinsky, are digging into the how and why, and crowdsourcing real-world price information.
