Lung cancer resources and patient communities?

Busy times: the other day I asked about endometrial cancer, and now I’ve had two requests for lung cancer help in the past three days.

I gather all these answers on my Patient Communities page, as best I can. (Just fixed the link – 9:18 ET)

I know there are many communities for lung cancer patients, but I don’t know where they are. So let’s get going, people: let us know what you know!  Even the obvious ones.

I know there are some on Inspire.com and ACOR, but I don’t have the URLs.  Paste ’em in here and it’ll be easier for the next soul in need. Thanks!

Thank you Dave for being there for everyone with a “knowledge deficit” ( did you know this is a nursing diagnosis?)

    Dave,

Not sure exactly what kind of resources you are looking for. My wife – a 7 years Stage 4 Lung Cancer Survivor and I (her care-giver/champion), routinely talk with people dealing with lung cancer, including care choice decisions and resources.

Steve, as the post suggests, see my Patient Communities page on this site https://www.epatientdave.com/communities, and other similar requests here. Patient communities, sites with information on treatment options, etc.

    Hi Dave,

Since you requested links even to the obvious, here are a couple from ACOR:

Non Small Cell Lung Cancer: http://www2.acor.org/listservs/join/81
    Lung Cancer Online Community: http://www2.acor.org/listservs/join/82
    Small Cell Lung Cancer: http://www2.acor.org/listservs/join/83

    Hope this helps,

    Benoit Bisson

Yes, Benoit, the links direct to specific communities are most welcome … do you have experience with those ones?

Not those, no. I’m just a permanent resident of the RCC one, which has proven a wonderful resource. Also important to mention (and I’m sure you’re well aware of that) to newcomers is the list archives on acor.org which allow you to search for just about anything concerning the list’s topic.

    Hi Dave,

I recently met Dr. West in Seattle who runs a great forum on lung cancer. Here is the link.
